Montpelier Farmer's Market Moves Downtown for 3 weeks

The Capitol City Farmer's Market has been investigating alternative locations to its State Street parking lot location for years. After an unsuccessful attempt to move up to the Vermont College of Fine Arts green years ago, the market and its board temporarily abandoned efforts to find an alternative location. This fall, a group that included Sustainable Montpelier and Montpelier Alive! approached the board about a temporary move to State Street between Elm and Main on September 23rd, 30th and October 7th.

Please be patient, this is an experiment and an opportunity to find out how closing State Street and creating a temporary pedestrian mall can have beneficial impacts to businesses, residents and visitors on the weekend. In 2018, the construction of the bike path through the back lot of the market is going to require creativity and new approaches. In collaboration with NOFA-VT (Northeast Organic Farmer's Association - Vermont) the market will be doing a survey at the September 23rd State St Market to learn more about who our customers are and what they desire. We look forward to your participation!

Woodbelly will be parked at the corner and we look forward to seeing all of you, and some of you who are new customers.

Parking will be available in the normal lots as well as the former market lot for all our customers. Thanks for trying this out with us!
